  1. Congrats! I'm not much of an Oliver fan myself, but the quirky things sure need love, and you seem to be just the man to provide it! :D

  2. I don't consider it ugly -- I think the black paint and gold pinstripes are handsome! Thanks for the report and the "New Things" article (written by the company?), which I'd never seen before. Inaudible at 15 feet? That does sound very implausible ...

I haven't played with my own #11 for quite a while. The turnip who sold it to me jammed it diagonally into a little box with no protection. There was some damage to the typebars but I got them straightened out.

  3. Richard! How awful it is to hear of a near tragedy with an Oliver!! And yes, the color scheme is handsome. The New Things article comes from a magazine scanned on Google books. I Forget which one. I found it during a Google search for Oliver 11.

  4. We love our Oliver 9. Of course it is plotting to take over the world, but that's just a minor character flaw.

Congratulations on the 11. Thanks for the detailed commentary. The use of aluminum parts is something new to me.
