An impressive haul of paraphernalia! I have never run across a dated page of first typing by a new owner like that.
One of these brown beauties just came up on our local craigslist, and since I already have one, I am trying to tempt a colleague who also has a typewriter weakness into snagging it.
PS: Comments on your site are very hard to read -- they show up against a background of Oliver sales text. Maybe you can fiddle with this and improve legibility.
Your background is excellent, but some intervening white color between comments and background would be nice. This is present on the replies but not with the comments.
Congratulations on your wonderful find. I've had one of these on my wish list for many months, but I have sworn off buying any more machines until 2013.
I really like the Underwood typeface. It is great to get some of the first typing done with the machine and all of the other things are great to have too.
At some point I'll Tlog with UDQT no. 2 and you'll be able to see what the cursive script looks like. You'll appreciate the current type face even more!

ReplyDeleteO.K., will do. I try to have the oliver ad as a background, imitating, of course, your own site!

DeleteVery nice, and I also thoroughly enjoy finding a trove of ephemera in the case.
